When did you join SmallWorlds?
June 2009
When did you start making missions?
I actually was slow on making missions. My first one was done in Sept 2011. A big shout out to Chiclet Gum; she encouraged me and had a lot to do with the mission. We always seem to work well together.
What was your first mission?
SmallWorld's Obstacle Course
Can you tell me a little about it?
The mission still makes me laugh. The player competed in an obstacle course; running, avoiding fire, crawling through tunnels, swimming, avoiding logs in the water and in the mud. They climbed rocks, swung across rivers and helped a distressed person.
Did anything inspire you to make missions?
I always had ideas that might make a cool mission, One day Chiclet Gum and I were talking about an idea I had, She said Let's make it! So I guess Chiclet inspired me.
What inspires you to keep making missions?
I love to program. I love to see my ideas come to life. Chiclet often calls me a dork because I love to program so much. She likes to challenge me. But most of all I love it when I receive a message or see someone out in SmallWorlds who tells me they love my missions and to please make more. That’s what really matters to me.
What are some of your favorite missions you played?
There are so many awesome missions out there, made by so many awesome mission makers. I wish I could include all the missions and all the makers. A few that really stand out to me and I do play faithfully are:
This is where I Died by Belly Tt - Robbed by Chiclet Gum - Ghost Town Adventures by Lya Brown - Trapped by Paula Willz the 3rd - Dragons of Pern by Zelda Velda. Trust me I could go on and on.
What’s your favorite mission you’ve made?
I really had a lot of fun making Halloween Party. Don’t Touch the Wires was a lot of fun too. I would probably say my favorite is The Three Little Piggies.
Have you ever thought about quitting mission making?
Absolutely not! Taking a break now and then, yes. As long as players enjoy my missions I plan on continuing to making them.
Describe your mission making style.
I would say my mission style would be making missions that all players; from a new player to a veteran mission player can play, finish, and have fun doing it.
Where do you get your ideas for your missions?
I’ll be driving down the street and I have had ideas pop in my head. My missions 1 Day before the Race (Parts 1 thru 4) is actually a real life experience. My mission Halloween Party was made after listening to a song on the radio. They just pop in my head.
You have made and worked with helping make missions with a partner. Can you tell me a little bit about the experience?
Let me just say making missions with Chiclet Gum is awesome. We are both good programmers. We both know what to do when making a mission. We both can make missions on our own, but together we seem to always make missions better than they would be on our own. When I bring a story to her for a mission, she always has a way of making that story better. Chiclet will toss out ideas and it makes the story even more interesting and fun. Whether it is my story idea or hers, we will sit and go over it task by task; we will both throw in our input and ideas until we are happy. Once the story is done we go to programming, and that usually goes pretty fast because we both know what we need to do and get it done. I got lucky when I started making missions having Chiclet around.
